Nilaveli

  Nilaveli Nilaveli  ( Tamil :  நிலாவெளி ,  romanized:  Nilāveḷi ;  Sinhala :  නිල්වැල්ල ,  romanized:  Nilvælla ) is a  coastal resort town  and suburb of the  Trincomalee District ,  Sri Lanka  located 16 km northwest of the city of  Trincomalee . A historically popular Tamil village and tourist destination of the district alongside the nearby  Uppuveli , the numbers of visitors declined following the  2004 Indian Ocean tsunami  and  Sri Lankan Civil War , but have risen again since 2010.  Pigeon Island National Park , one of the two marine national parks of the region is situated 1 km off the coast of Nilaveli, its many species of vegetation, coral and reef fish contributing to Nilaveli's rich  biodiversity .

National Zoological Gardens

  National Zoological Gardens   National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka  (also called Dehiwala Zoo or Colombo Zoo) is a  zoological garden  in  Dehiwala ,  Sri Lanka , founded in 1936. It is home to various birds, mammals, reptiles, fish and amphibians. The zoo not only exhibits animals from Sri Lanka, but also exhibits species from across Asian and other parts of the globe. As of 2005, the zoo has 3,000 animals and 350 species. The annual revenue is  LKR  40 million. The Dehiwala Zoo exchanges its residents with other zoological gardens for breeding purposes.

Ridiyagama Safari Park

  Ridiyagama Safari Park     Ridiyagama Safari Park  is 500 acre  safari park ,  zoo  in  Ridiyagama  area of  Hambantota  District,  Sri Lanka . The park was opened to the public on 28 May 2016. It is the first ever Safari Park in Sri Lanka. [4] In 2008, construction work of park was started by the direction of The National Zoological Department of Sri Lanka. The safari park constructed for the expectation of  tourism , and estimated cost for the project is 1.6 billion  Sri Lankan rupees .

Sinharaja Forest Reserve

  Sinharaja Forest Reserve   Sinharaja Forest Reserve  is a  forest reserve  and a  biodiversity hotspot  in  Sri Lanka . It is of international significance and has been designated a  Biosphere Reserve  and  World Heritage Site  by  UNESCO . [1] According to International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Sinharaja is the country's last viable area of primary  tropical rainforest . More than 60% of the trees are endemic and many of them are considered rare. 50% of Sri Lankan's endemics species of animals (especially butterfly, amphibians, birds, snakes and fish species). It is home to 95% endemic birds. The hilly virgin rainforest, part of the  Sri Lanka lowland rain forests   ecoregion , was saved from the worst of commercial logging by its inaccessibility, and was designated a World Biosphere Reserve in 1978 and a World Heritage Site in 1988.   Sri Padasthanaya ira udava Sri Padasthanaya (Adams Peak) is  a  Buddhist shrine  built in and around Siri Pathula(Load Budas Footprint), located at the mouth of the Samanalakanda mountain . Sripada Kanda is located in the central hills of the Ratnapura district of the Sabaragamuwa Province. It is 2243 meters high. The mountain is located in the southern reaches of the Central Highlands in the  Ratnapura District  and  Nuwara Eliya District  of the  Sabaragamuwa Province  and  Central Province  —lying about 40 km (25 mi) northeast of  Ratnapura  and 32 km (20 mi) southwest of Hatton.   Dunhinda Falls   Dunhinda Falls  is a  waterfall  located about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from  Badulla  in the lower central hills of  Sri Lanka . The waterfall, which is 64 metres (210 ft) high, gets its name from the smoky dew drops spray, (Dun in sinhala means mist or smoke) which surrounds the area at the foot of the waterfall. [1] The fall is created by the Badulu Oya which flows through Badulla.

Hakgala Botanical Garden

  Hakgala Botanical Garden   Hakgala Botanical Garden  is one of the five  botanical gardens  in  Sri Lanka . The other four are  Peradeniya Botanical Garden ,  Henarathgoda Botanical Garden ,  Mirijjawila Botanical Garden  and  Seetawaka Botanical Garden . It is the second largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka. [1]  The garden is contiguous to  Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve . Hakgala Botanical Garden is situated on the  Nuwara Eliya - Badulla  main road, 16 km from Nuwara Eliya. The garden has a  cool temperate   climate  because of altitude is 5,400 feet above sea level. The mean annual temperature ranges between 16 °C to 30 °C during the course of a year. [3]  From December to February it has a cold climate, while the warm climate persists from April to August.
