Hakgala Botanical Garden is one of the five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The other four are Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Henarathgoda Botanical Garden, Mirijjawila Botanical Garden and Seetawaka Botanical Garden. It is the second largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka.[1] The garden is contiguous to Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve. Hakgala Botanical Garden is situated on the Nuwara Eliya-Badulla main road, 16 km from Nuwara Eliya. The garden has a cool temperate climate because of altitude is 5,400 feet above sea level. The mean annual temperature ranges between 16 °C to 30 °C during the course of a year.[3] From December to February it has a cold climate, while the warm climate persists from April to August.

SRI MAH A BODHIYA Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi (Sinhala: ජය ශ් ‍ රී මහා බොධිය ) is a sacred bo tree in the Mahamewna Gardens, Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is the southern branch from the historical Sri Maha Bodhi at Buddha Gaya in India under which Buddha attained Enlightenment. It was planted in 288 BC,and is the oldest living human-planted tree in the world with a known planting date. The other fig trees that surround the sacred tree protect it from storms and animals such as monkeys, bats, etc.[citation needed] In April 2014, the government banned all construction within 500 metres (1,600 ft) of the tree. Only construction that obviously will not harm the tree will be allowed. Buddhists on the Island have had a practice of visiting and paying homage to the most sacred Bodhi tree. It is an annual custom for pilgrims from far-away villages to visit the city of Anuradhapura and to pay homage to the Sri Maha Bodhi. Dunhinda Falls

  Dunhinda Falls   Dunhinda Falls  is a  waterfall  located about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from  Badulla  in the lower central hills of  Sri Lanka . The waterfall, which is 64 metres (210 ft) high, gets its name from the smoky dew drops spray, (Dun in sinhala means mist or smoke) which surrounds the area at the foot of the waterfall. [1] The fall is created by the Badulu Oya which flows through Badulla.
